A troubled Haitian-American teen is sent to live with his estranged grandmother on Long Island. Initially resistant, he gradually immerses himself in the culture of his family’s Haitian takeout restaurant and reconnects with his roots.
But as he discovers a sense of belonging, old habits and mistakes from the past resurface, threatening the new life he’s trying to build.
